Comfort Insurance is a trading name for specialist Motorhome insurance from Victor Millwell Insurance Agency, An independent insurance intermediary for over 25 years. Comfort is a family business, run by Peter and Pat Cue along with two of their three children and a team of well-trained staff.
Peter and Pat have been active motor caravanners for nearly 20 years, and by the mid 1990’s came to the conclusion that the policies then available in the market did not provide all the specialised covers that they really needed. They set about compiling a package of covers that actually provide the add-ons that were missing by 1996 they had convinced Norwich Union Insurance that the contract had real potential, and the Comfort scheme was born. Why “Comfort”? – “Because a motorhome offers more comfort than a tent” Says Pat. Few would disagree.
The Comfort motorhome Scheme was an immediate success, and today is one the leading motorhome schemes in the UK. Not that Peter and Pat have rested on their laurels – one of the reasons for the continued success of the scheme is that there has been a programme of continuous improvement over the last 5 years. This has led to market-leading innovations such as the 24 hour claims and breakdown helpline, an unrivalled continental breakdown service, the provision of “Traffic Alert” devices, and more recently the driver training initiative.
A New Comfort scheme for household insurance has recently been launched. Called “Horizon Home Comforts”, it takes into account the particular needs of motor caravan owners by catering for longer periods of unoccupancy and overseas travel.
Comfort Insurance owes its success to a combination of market leading cover and old fashioned services standards. They are regular attendees at most of the major shows, giving customers a chance to meet management and staff face to face.
In 2001 Comfort moved to a new larger, purpose-built offices. This has enabled additional staff to be recruited. By January 2002 the company had achieved “Investors in People” recognition, reflecting the importance placed on staff training.
