CLAIM PROCEDURES
Notification
Report claims via the comfort dedicated help-line Comfort M C Assist on 0800 0280038.
This is manned by RAC, and is a 24 hour 365 days a year service. They will take all the claims information, and organise any immediate help such as moving an immobile vehicle to safe place and getting clients to their destination. They will send a copy of the form to the client for checking.
The calls to the help-line will generate email notification to NU claims office at Chelmsford, and should also generate email confirmation to us at the same time.
The help-line number is also the one that will handle breakdown calls.
Claims Handling
You will be contacted by Norwich Union at Chelmsford to negotiate the claim settlement. Norwich Union will discuss with Comfort claims department when:
The cost of the claim is estimated at £10,000 or more
There are any unusual circumstances
There is doubt over value of vehicle
The estimate for a windscreen claim exceeds £1000
Any specialist advice is needed
