FAST TRACK EMERGENCY REPORTING - AT HOME OR ABROAD

Comfort Insurance has introduced fast track emergency reporting for accident recovery and claims handling which motor caravanners can initiate by dialing a single Freephone helpline number - operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This recognises the fact that motor caravanners travel in different time zones and need the same access to insurance service as owners traveling within the UK.

To supplement this service, Comfort Insurance now offers an automatic comprehensive policy extension for policyholders visiting the EU and certain other countries. In addition, these countries have signed an agreement which allows motor caravanners to travel from one territory to any other without Green Cards. RAC SERVICES

To ensure even greater peace-of-mind, Comfort Insurance has added RAC breakdown in the UK and Europe to its standard policy - a service offered to all motor caravans, regardless of size or age. This can be upgraded to include any other vehicle the motor caravanner owns on an "any driver" basis, subject to certain criteria being fulfilled. One of the key attractions of the RAC cover is price. We have negotiated a nominal charge for this service, even though the RAC does not usually cover motor caravans on a stand-alone policy basis.

Comfort Insurance offers two levels of RAC cover -

HORIZON ADVANTAGE

provided by the RAC UK and Europe with no restrictions on the size or age of motor caravan.

HORIZON ADVANTAGE PLUS

a) Personal RAC cover for any other vehicle the proposer is driving or a passenger in, within the UK or Europe.

b) This cover can be extended to include one designated vehicle on an ANY DRIVERS basis on production of the vehicle registration number. * Vehicles over 10 years are exempt to (a) and (b).

KEYCARE PROTECTION

Keys attached to your Comfort keyfob are covered. Key care pays £10 to a finder coverage nationwide. £300 cover per annum towards replacement locks, car hire and locksmith charges up to the value of £50 per call-out. 24 hour help-line.

IMMOBILISERS AND ALARMS - ADDITIONAL SECURITY AT A DISCOUNTED PRICE

You will also qualify for an attractive discount on your premium if you fit one of our approved security devices

For a small additional cost, why not sign up for Horizon Advantage and Horizon Advantage Plus cover, provided by the RAC and worth over £200. This includes:

  • Breakdown Rescue Recovery Service
    Immediate roadside assistance if your motorcaravan breaks down
  • At Home Service
    If your motorcaravan won't start at home, the RAC will come to you
  • Emergency Roadside Assistance
    If your motorcaravan cannot be repaired immediately, it will be taken to a nearby garage where you can arrange for repairs to be made
  • Free Accident Recovery
    Including 24 hour hire car and other onward travel options
  • Onward Transportation in Europe
    If your motorcaravan cannot be repaired within 12 hours, we will provide a replacement vehicle to enable you to continue your holiday while your motorcaravan is being repaired. The RAC will use its best endeavors to find a car of similar, but not exact, specification to your own vehicle to ensure that you can carry the same number of passengers
  • Other Eventualities
    The following facilities may also be provided:
    [1] The driver falls ill and no other drivers can drive the caravan to complete the journey. In these circumstances it will be at the discretion of the RAC as to whether a replacement driver is provided to enable you to reach your destination or return home. Some form of medical certification will be required
    [2] If your motorcaravan is stolen or involved in an accident up to seven days prior to departure and cannot be repaired or recovered in time
  • Repatriation
    Repatriation of your motorcaravan to your home address or nominated repairer in Great Britain, Nothern Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man if your motorcaravan cannot be repaired before the end of your holiday period, subject to the cost repatriation not exceeding the market value of your motor caravan
  • Expenses
    The RAC may, at its discretion, offer you or any permitted driver overnight accommodation expenses for the driver and passengers excluding drinks and meals

The services detailed shall be provided subject to the total cost of the services not exceeding £3,000. For our joint protection, calls may be recorded and/or monitored

Horizon Home Comforts

Comfort introduced this policy in January 2003. Cover is provided by the UK’s largest insurer, Norwich Union. Cover can be provided for most properties, from 1 bedroom flats to 5 bedroom detached houses. In additional to standard benefits the policy offers

  • The ability to increase the standard 60 day unoccupancy to 90 or 120 days.
  • Full cover for personal effects whilst in the motorhome (if selected)
  • Guest’s effect whilst in the motorhome.
  • Annual travel, with the option to increase single trip limits to 90 or 120 days (if selected)
  • Option to add buildings and/or personal effects covers
